Enterprise Bermuda Incubator: Memorandum of Understanding between the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) and Founders accepted in the Enterprise Bermuda Incubator Program.

Terms of Agreement:

This agreement is made between the BEDC and the FOUNDER of BUSINESS and is based on the following terms:
Strategic Objectives:
  • To support the development of Entrepreneurship in Bermuda
  • To provide an incubator for start-up and current businesses in Bermuda
  • To provide access to intensive training and mentoring for start-up and current businesses
BEDC will:
  1. Provide use of Office space for a 12-month period rent free.
  2. Provide in office use of a Laptop or a Computer as necessary.
  3. Provide use of the Office Printer, as agreed by BEDC.
  4. Provide access to Office supplies for normal day-to-day use.
  5. Allow use of the Kitchen and provided refreshments.
  6. Allow use of the Reception Area and reception services as needed.
  7. Allow use of the Training room and equipment, based on availability.
  8. Allow usage of Meeting Rooms based on availability.
  9. Promote the partnership on its website and publicly.
  10. Provide access to BEDC’s Multi-Week Courses and seminars.
  11. Provide access to Professional Service providers.
  12. Provide mentoring services.
  13. Provide opportunity for international experience.
FOUNDER will:
  1. Sign off on the terms of the MOU for the BUSINESS.
  2. Become registered as a BEDC Business Member
  3. Keep all BEDC materials and internal information confidential and not share them.
  4. Use care while on the BEDC premises and adhere to all governing rules and regulations for the Office.
  5. Not use the office printer and office supplies for personal/non-business uses.
  6. Not print inappropriate/obnoxious content.
  7. Be mindful of operating in a shared office space and govern behavior appropriately.
  8. Promote the BEDC as a partner in social media and online correspondence.
  9. Agree to participate in overseas experiences.
  10. Agree that all photographs taken will be used as it relates to the promotion of the Enterprise Incubator and BEDC.
  11. Not download any software onto BEDC’s laptops without express permission to do so.
  12. Not view inappropriate/obnoxious content on the internet.
  13. Participate in all BEDC organized PR/Marketing events related to the incubator.
  14. Display the BEDC logo on their website, with an active link back to the BEDC website (www.bedc.bm).
  15. Send any related press releases to BEDC to promote the partnership.
  16. Participate in and attend suggested BEDC events, seminars, workshops and pitch workshops.
  17. Meet with a BEDC Officer Monthly and BEDC’s Communication & Development Director Quarterly as assigned throughout the duration of the MOU.
  18. Present 2 pitch presentations at the 6-month and 12-month periods.
  19. Govern yourself appropriately as a partner of BEDC embracing BEDC’s values and principles.
Financial Terms:
  • The BEDC is not responsible for any costs incurred by FOUNDER that are not approved in advance by the BEDC.
  • FOUNDER is not responsible for costs incurred by the BEDC.
  • If any damage is cause to the property of BEDC, beyond the scope outlined in this agreement, FOUNDER will be personally liable to compensate BEDC.
  • BEDC will not be held liable for any damage to or loss of the property of FOUNDER while housed in the BEDC's offices.
Length of Agreement:
  • The agreement between the BEDC and FOUNDER of BUSINESS is valid for twelve months from the start date.
