Good Day BEDC Members and Stakeholders,


In response to the global pandemic of the Covid -19 Virus, the BEDC has made a decision to implement certain precautions for your safety and the safety of the staff that serve you.


Effective immediately, all meetings will be delivered via teleconference.  If you have a meeting scheduled, your officer will follow up to arrange a phone call or video chat.


All currently scheduled courses have been postponed until further notice. We will be paying close attention to the Government notices and can provide a further update by mid to late April as to new dates for any postponed courses.


For now, please reference the following listing as to the status of the upcoming courses and events:

Tuesday’s, March 17th, and 23rd – Data Protection and Privacy

Currently running. The remaining 2 classes will be delivered via the web. The Facilitators will be following up with registrants to provide them with access information.

Wednesday, March 18th – Multi-Week Course Overview, Lunch & Learn

This will be delivered via Facebook Live. Visit BEDC’s Facebook Page to access. If you are registered for this lunch & learn you will receive an email with further details and information relevant for the info session.

Wednesday, March 25th – Are You a Business or Charity Seminar

Postponed. New date to be released after a status update from the Government.

March 26th – May 14th – Entrepreneurship 101

Postponed. New date to be provided after mid to end April and a status update from the Government.

Tuesday, March 31st – COOP Pitch Competition

Postponed. The Economic and Cooperative Development Team will be following up with individuals regarding support of and for the development of their coop business ideas.

Wednesday, April 1st – North East Hamilton Outreach & Local Plan, Snack & Learn

Postponed until after the Government update. The Officer responsible for this area, will be reaching out to area stakeholders to share information and get feedback electronically.

April 20th – May 14 – Student Success

As this course is towards the end of April, we will make a decision to postpone based on Government guidelines.

Sunday, April 26th – St. George’s Marine EXPO

Currently the EXPO is still on, but we will continue to monitor Government updates and adjust accordingly.

We are proactively working on solutions for delivering content and educational programme via video conferencing. Once we have confirmed the best solutions, we will be following up with you to provide an update.


For those who have registered for Entrepreneurship 101, you have an option to receive a credit on your file for the course and once a new date has been established you can apply that credit, or you can receive a refund. Please email if you are interested in receiving a refund. If we do not hear from you, we will apply a credit for the course to your account.
